HAPPY SLEEVE YEAR Promotion Terms and Conditions:

1. The promotional price is $7999.

2. To qualify for the promotion, the patient must participate in Priority Pass.

3. The promotional price includes the facility fee, surgeon fee, and anesthesiologist fee.

4. The promotional price also covers the cost of the first postoperative visit 10 to 14 days after surgery with the physician assistant via telemedicine or in person. Subsequent follow-up visits after the first postoperative visit will cost $125 per visit.

Special does not apply to Medicare, Medicaid, or Tricare.

5. Not all patients will be candidates for this promotion.

6. A patient’s body mass index must be below 60 for this promotion.

7. The procedure will be performed on an outpatient basis at Outpatient Services East. We have been performing outpatient weight loss surgery in this facility for more than 10 years. Also, this facility is connected to Saint Vincent’s East, which is a full-service hospital facility.

8. The initial visit and surgery will need to be within the month of April 2024.

9. There will be limited availability for this promotion.

10. There will be a $500 cancellation fee if the procedure is canceled or rescheduled within 10 days of surgery.

11. The patient will need to provide medical clearance in order to have surgery. Also, a patient will need cardiac clearance if there is a history of cardiac disease or pulmonary clearance if there is a history of lung disease. If you have not provided clearance within seven days of surgery, the surgery will be canceled and a cancellation fee will be applied. We will provide clearance forms that can be sent to the medical doctor and/or cardiologist/pulmonologist.

12. Paperwork will be emailed to the patient as soon as the appointment is booked. The paperwork will need to be completed within 24 hours of booking the appointment or the appointment will be cancelled.

13. Patients who are taking blood thinning medication will need to be off this medication for a period of time prior to surgery. The length of time depends on the medication.

14. Patients will need to start a preoperative liquid diet for a certain period of time prior to surgery. The length of time will depend on the patient’s body mass index. Please consider this time frame when selecting a surgery date.

15. No lab work, EKG, or chest X-ray will be covered in the cost of this promotion. Fortunately, most patients will not require these tests.

16. There is no reimbursement for the difference if you previously paid for the surgery and did not participate in the Priority pass.

17. Payment by cashier’s check or certified bank check is preferred. Other forms of payment may incur an administrative fee.

18. The anesthesiologist will review the patient’s history and can potentially decide that the patient is not a candidate for surgery at the surgery center. While this possibility is extremely rare, if this situation occurs, the patient will have the option of canceling the procedure without a penalty or scheduling the procedure the same day at the hospital in the same location, which will incur additional costs.

19. If you live two hours or more away from the surgery facility, you will need to stay overnight in a hotel close to the hospital. A list of hotels will be provided, and most of the hotels on the list will provide a discount if you inform them that you are having surgery.

20. The terms of this promotion can change at any time. Also, the promotion can end at any time because of the limited availability.

FAQs

Surgeon’s fee for the procedure. Anesthesiologist fee. Surgery center fee. (Unfortunately, not all patients will be candidates to have surgery at the Outpatient surgery center. If your BMI is higher than 59, your surgery will need to be performed at St. Vincent’s East. If the surgery has to be performed in the hospital setting at St. Vincent’s East, the total price will be $9,999, if performed as an outpatient the total price will be $12,800 for a one-night stay in the hospital.) Post-operative visits for 90 days. Monthly support group meetings.

  • If the patient has previously had a gastric band (i.e. LAP-BAND or REALIZE band) placed and removed or a prior fundoplication for reflux, there will be an extra charge of $1000 secondary to the complexity of the surgery.
  • If during sleeve gastrectomy or Roux-en-Y gastric bypass the patient is found to have a hiatal hernia, the hiatal hernia will be repaired at that time. The cost of the hernia repair will be billed to the patient’s insurance. If the patient does not have insurance, the cost will be an additional $1,000.
  • Lab work, Including multiple nutritional labs, will be performed three months after surgery, six months after surgery, and 12 months after surgery. The lab work will be billed through insurance or a cash pay option will be offered.

Like every operation, there is a risk. Because our patients already have health-related problems, there is an increased risk of complications. However, our team makes sure they thoroughly screen you to make sure that there are no surprises on the operating table. If we feel that it is not safe to operate on you, we will not proceed. However, we will gladly work with you in order for you to be eligible for the operation. Your team will be behind you 100% before, during, and after the surgery.

No problem! We have multiple ways to get you prepared for surgery. We also accept multiple insurances and methods of payment. We even offer outside financing. Sometimes, insurance companies require patients to have a more in-depth workup before surgery. We will work with you one-on-one to start your weight loss journey. The best thing to do is to call our office at 205-833-6907.

Dr. Long charges so much less than other bariatric clinics because he wants to be competitive with his price and provide a phenomenal tool that will benefit the patient’s health and well-being at the same time. By offering a lower price, the patient receives the benefit of an affordable surgery, and Dr. Long receives the benefit of helping a larger amount of patients. The total price for sleeve gastrectomy is made up of the facility fee, anesthesiologist fee, and surgeon fee. Dr. Long has negotiated a very affordable rate from the facility as well as the anesthesiologist group. Those prices combined with his affordable cost have allowed him to provide one of the lowest prices for a sleeve gastrectomy in the country.
